Its only Rock and Roll
Just finished a truely amazing night of entertainment for a client at Horwood House near Milton Keynes. The objective for senior management group was to draw people together during an evening of entertainment, something that would take the group outside of their normal comfort zone, but not single out or spot light individuals.
The event Rock idol has been an amazing success. The easiest way to describe/visualise the event is Karaoke with a live band, but that would be doing this event a huge injustice, it was so much more…
On being seated for dinner the delegates greeted with the rock anthem “It’s only Rock and Roll” followed by an introduction from our MC. The guests were then left to discuss their choice of music over dinner. After coffee the supergroup Take This (Company Directors) hit the stage to Queens We will Rock You to kick off the evening entertainment.
Table groups were shown to the superstars dressing room to prepare/make up ready to hit the stage and wow the expectant audience. Each table took to the stage dressed to impress in wigs, sunglasses, tattoo’s, a variety of headwear, makeup and of course the obligatory air guitar. The crowd was serenaded by Monkees, Abba, Kings of Leon, Chumawamba, Queen, Madness, The Human League. The last team grew from 10 to 20 plus people on stage who lifted the roof off to the tune “500 miles” from the Proclaimers… The winning team Chumbawamba accepted their Golden Stars before a repeat performance with just about everyone guest starring on stage!
A fabulous evening thorouhly enjoyed by guests, musicians and our team as well.
I felt like a rock star as I sleepily crawled into bed at 3am!
